GRADUATION

COLLECTION

During my senior year at Shenkar College, and on my way to becoming a fresh fashion designer, my final project discussed the connection between two stories - the Cleveland Balloon Festival in 1986, and the fast fashion industry. The festival, which aimed to break the Guinness record by blowing a lot of helium balloons, contained good intentions but its results were detrimental and caused a great deal of mess. The fast-fashion industry, and in particular the documentary film "The True Cost", reviews a similar situation whose goals are positive but its results are not. Understanding that sometimes good intentions go awry, my final project, which involves reusing used clothing, tailor-made fabrics and costumes, began.

since these coustoms are used by us for the holiday evening and then not useful anymore, their presence in the collection is familiar to all of us and highlights a strong, misguided and critical message that strives to make these elements a desirable, wearable and useful fashion that fits into the RTW category.
