The "New Icon" course began by exploring the past of iconic items in the fashion world. the course requires giving a new and up-to-date turn to the familiar and iconic garment. The item I chose to work with is the corset.

History indicates that the corset has undergone many changes, often associated with medical problems. The Corset created a deformation of the female body structure, and there are images that simulate deformations in the human body structure, which have inspired me in this project. With details such as cording, I relied on design elements taken from the content world of the corset. From these elements I created a collection that expresses the new distortion of the 21st century. With the help of lycra fabrics, cordage (cords) and red embroidery, I made a refreshing new look that rests on the historic corset and its features.
